ABOUT THE REST OF HISTORY |
History is fascinating. But the way that it's taught? Not so much.
TRoH exists because dry school history textbooks and whatever World War II shows your dad likes to nap along to just don't cut it anymore.
We (Lauren and Sam) are graduate students of public history at American University in Washington, D.C. We're also a real-life Zillennial and Gen. Z-er, and we really, really like talking about history, *duh*. So, we married our skills as historians-in-training with our fresh, conversational rapport, and we created this history podcast for a new audience: ours!

Every week, we will teach each other a totally out-there, oft-forgotten, or just plain extraordinary story from history. You can expect side topics, obscure citations, and maybe a Vine reference sprinkled in here or there for good measure.
You know how the group chat gets messy the morning after a big night out? That's our approach to the show. We're not going to bore you with state-standardized lesson plans. Instead, we'll tell you stories that you can't wait to tell your friends.

EPISODE 04 | ONE IF BY LAND, TWO IF BY...MARK?Settle down with your Dunks and a cruller, and believe us when we tell you that this episode is a friggin' wild ride. Lauren goes after landlords, lambasts the male tendency to ~embellish~ stories, and embraces her secret inner Masshole to tell Sam the story of an oft-forgotten character in the tale of Paul Revere's famed midnight adventure.
